NASA - A Space Miracle (Kennedy Space Centre)

Space exploration has always captured human interest. Almost

every child gets excited when they hear about outer space, planets,

shuttles, and astronauts. We did not explore the space in real, but

we surely had an astronaut-like experience at the Kennedy Space

Center in Orlando. The visit to the KSC gave us the opportunity

to learn about astronomy, which added to our knowledge about

space and beyond. Our visit was planned and conducted really

well. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Our day started with the bus tour of the Kennedy Space Center,

which provided an insight into the achievements of NASA. As we

saw the hi-tech facilities from our bus, the tour guide took us to

some exclusive areas such as Launch Complex 398 and Vehicular

Assembly Building. While touring this multi-user spaceport, we

learnt from space scientists about their fields of study and also

understood how NASA has joined hands with commercial partners

to prepare for the future of space exploration. NASA's bus tour

was the most wonderful experience ever. We also got a chance

to see the Emergency Egress Vehicle and the most powerful

rockets besides hearing successful astronauts

The next day, our tour began with a quiz on space travel and

astronauts, which made us realise that there is so much beyond

the world we live in. It was inspiring to hear the astronaut share

his personal experiences in space - the way they used to eat and

drink, the way they slept, and the objects they saw in space.

Thereafter, we saw a 3D IMAX movie on the Hubble Telescope,

which was an incredible experience. To be able to see how

astronauts prepare to go into space was very interesting.

Exploring the vastness of space itself was miraculous. Another film on the Space Shuttle Atlantis

showcased the priceless, historic spacecrafts that bear testimony to the incredible achievements of

NASA. The most interesting thing about our visit to the Kennedy Space

Center was becoming aware of the fact that being an astronaut

is not only about fame and pride. Rather, it requires immense

perseverance and patience. This visit to the KSC was-awe inspiring

for all of us and it has intensified our curiosity about space travel.
